Meditation exists long before Buddha. It was a way for yogic to become one with the divine. It’s very easy for meditation to become some kind of close-eyes mental exercise.
The basic of meditation is to let the mind be free from any mental activity and concentrate in something. To leave all distraction and follow a simple path. For a tender start, it can be started by following the breathe, the inhale and the exhale.
- At first, seat in a comfortable position, it can be on your cushion, by folding your legs or on a chair comfortably.
- Next close your eyes gently.
- Take a deep breath , inhale and exhale.
- Follow the path of the air very closely, follow the inhale, how it enters the body , how your belly goes up.
- Now, follow the path of exhale gently, how the air flows from your lungs to the atmosphere.
- Do not judge ,just follow the natural phenomenon , don't try to manipulate just follow the path.
- Continue this process for some time. While the process is in progress you will find that your concentration is running out of the basket. To bring back your concentration, ask yourself a right kind of question, what is more important at this time, to concentrate or to distract? Bring your concentration, every time it's distract.
- Follow the path of your breathe.
- This is the basic of meditation. It's too easy to practice. In this process you enlighten yourself and teach your distraction to focus. You will find it helpful, When you are doing any important work. Your mind can fully involve itself in that job.
Enlightenment through meditation is a state of mind when we clean our entire subconscious mind and remove all bad emotions. We don’t have to live in the mountain, we don’t have to give up our jobs, family, and possessions. Rather, we need the daily meditation practice. The difference between an enlighten person and normal person is that the enlightened person is full of munificence, wisdom, tolerance and determination.
